We no longer deal in any Chinese engines due to the constant cheating and trickery that many of the companies from there use to try to make sales.

Whilst some Chinese Engine manufacturers may well have the ability to manufacture and supply a reasonable product, It is our experience that only one of those currently manages to supply decent product regularly out of their factory door. That company is DL Engines and they are very well supported through their official distributor network. We are not part of the DLE network but for those who wish to obtain them we can point you to a viable distributor of them near you. 

It is our experience that purchasing any other Chinese manufactured RC engine brand holds a massive risk regarding the quality of what you may receive and the backup of the product.

If you are looking for a low priced engine with reliability and decent backup service, We suggest you either purchase a DL Engine through the Factory authorised dealers closes to you.

If you are looking for the lowest cost, can use some basic tools yourself if anything goes wrong with the engine, and are prepared to write off the purchase price if things don’t work out how you want. We suggest you purchase from the companies linked above. Those companies generally have the greatest range with the best pricing and delivery available. The savings are such that you can often get two of those engines for the price of one, this is largely because there is no useful warranty coverage from those places of purchase.

Despite the rumors put out by many of the Western “Authorised resellers”, engines supplied from such sources as Hobbyking or HiModel are in fact the genuine article from the same components and the same batches as the engines sold at much higher prices by other suppliers sites. Just be prepared to do a little work yourself if you need to.

Each year, many “new” brands and “new” “Distributors” crop up for the low budget brands. Those distributors often have next to zero useful technical knowledge and market their wares by posting a lot on internet forums with such commetns as “Nice Plane” or they get their buddies to post how great they are. Unfortunatley the end user pays a premium price for the product to receive little to no useful support. When a seller tells you adamantly that their brand uses “tight” fits for bearings (why? - are they corroded to the shaft?) or that their product uses “Nickelite” coating in the cylinder (wow - Nickelite is actually a tin based Babbit that is far from suitable for a cylinder lining) or that they have electro plated cylinders when the flame coating machine marks are clearly in those cylinders, All We can warn you is to be very wary.

Take a close look inside most of the low budget engines cylinders after a few hours running. If the wear marks are not uniform along the cylinder and around the cylinder and you see any “shiny spots” that don’t show the same markings fom the piston movement, you wil have a cylinder that is not paralel or tapered. Any good quality enigne will have even wear marks.

We told them what the market really wants in a compact battery charger and cycler. The ability to balance charge up to six cells for Li Po, Li Ion and Li Fe batteries without the need to use a separate balance module.

We told them that the unit also needed to be able to charge NiCd, NiMh, and PB (Lead Acid) batteries, it had to be simple to use, compact, robust and with a good instruction manual.

It needed to have the ability to fast charge as well as cycle the batteries.

It needed to a temperature sensor (included) and USB connection to allow interfacing with a computer for those special user defined charge curves.

We also mentioned that we required a comprehensive set of leads to fit most applications, including “Dene” style plugs, Glow igniters, “Tamiya” and “Futaba” style plugs and well as alligator clips was required to be included.
